Imagine a scavenger hunt like no other.
First, find a giant chicken outfit. Put it on. Next, strap on your skis or board. Then, the search begins.
What exactly are you looking for? Just a mythical beast called Bigfoot, notorious for being ill-tempered and elusive.
Oh, yeah. And you’ll also be drunk.
Well, maybe not drunk… yet. We would never condone drunken skiing or riding. But rest assured you’re only one après away from a beer-fueled buzz. After all, this scavenger hunt is sponsored by Colorado’s darling draft, New Belgium Brewery.
The whole series of scavenger hunts kicked off this past weekend at Taos Ski Resort in New Mexico. Next, it’s making its way through Colorado before heading north to Washington and finally wrapping up at Squaw Valley in California. See the complete schedule below.
March 17 – Telluride Scavenger Hunt
March 24 – Eldora Scavenger Hunt
March 31 – Loveland Scavenger Hunt
April 1 – Snoqualmie Scavenger Hunt
April 7 – Squaw Valley Scavenger Hunt
Frankly, we can’t think of a better way to spend St. Patrick’s Day. And with this 5th Night Free promo from Telluride, you can make a whole week of it. With beer this tasty, you may need a few extra days to sleep in anyway.
Participation in the scavenger hunt is only 10 bucks per person (not including a lift ticket, which you’ll need to compete) and part of the proceeds benefit local charities like the Telluride Adaptive Sports Program and the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado.
So c’mon… Pull the ol’ chicken costume out of the closet, crack open that wallet… and then crack open a cold one!
